Bespoke property on the Isle of Harris

Name - Adam & Cathy Thomas (and family)

Design - Bespoke design based on "The Kinloch"

Location - Horgabost, Isle of Harris

Builder – A self-managed build using individual trades.

Toward the end of their build, ITV's "Moving Day" contacted the Thomas' to turn their Manchester to Harris experience into a 1-hour programme.  Presenters Sally Gray and Gavin Low visited the Isle of Harris to film the big day.

Structural kit erection nearing completion.

June 2004.  The blockwork is almost complete and work is about to start on slating.

The Thomas boys with the Isle of Taransay in the background (remember Castaway 2000?).  The photo shows the house foundations and underbuilding being prepared in anticipation of the timber frame kit delivery.

Living room will be warmer when the windows are in and the roof is on.
