![]() Winter and work starts on site. Here the trenches for the foundations have been dug. |
![]() And then snow hampers progress as the foundations start to take shape. |
||
![]() Pretty though! Angus and Maggie chose to live in a caravan on site throughout the build, in part because they own horses which live in the fields surrounding the new house. |
![]() They must therefore have been very pleased to see the house starting to appear. From what they told me, it sounds like the caravan was just fine……for around the first five minutes! |
||
![]() Here the exterior of the house is almost finished. The timber on the dormers is to be painted white while the rest of the house...... |
![]() ......is pink! The colour comes from "Bogentassie" sand used in the wet dash which is a local vernacular finish, and looks great. |
||
Inside the house, Angus and Maggie have chosen a practical and stylish look throughout. The soft colouring in the lounge complements their choice of timber flooring beautifully. |
![]() ....and in the kitchen they have chosen a simple farmhouse style which suits the traditional look of the house. In this house, the layout has been altered from the standard Flodigarry. |
||
![]() ....This large kitchen/dining room has been created in the rear gable projection allowing for a large utility room and a study/bedroom where the kitchen was originally positioned. The result is a practical spacious room that has become the hub of the house. |
![]() These French doors lead from the living room out onto a decked area. Another set of doors lead out to the same area from the kitchen. |
