How big does my plot need to be?
There are no hard and fast rules here. For example, in rural areas plots tend to be quite large, generally at least 1/4 acre in size, giving houses "plenty of room to breathe". In a village or town setting, plots may be smaller with neighbouring properties closer together. The local planning department will consider the immediate "housing pattern" when assessing an application. As there are no hard and fast rules you may need to take the advice of a local planning consultant. We have designs to fit all sorts of plots, so hopefully we can work with you to choose a design that suits your plot and your living requirements. Send us details of your plot (a site plan, photos, etc) and an outline of your accommodation requirements and we'll try to help you choose a design.
